WRITTEN AND PRACTICAL ASSESSMENTS
The written and practical exams test clinical knowledge and skill. Similar to NREMT exams, the written and practical exam evaluate EMS competency.
ASSESSMENT CENTER AND INTERVIEW
The assessment center is scenario based and includes scene management, leadership, and mentorship skills. An interview is also conducted during this phase that evaluates candidate “fit” and alignment with the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Must have no felony convictions within the past ten (10) years.
Must have the ability to pass a physical examination
Must have the ability to pass the minimum physical fitness requirement test.
Must be able to pass all entry requirements and background processes.
Must be willing to attend recommended classes, seminars and conferences that support leadership development and contribute to the advancement of the QRV program.
Five (5) years of service with licensed EMS agency or certified fire department
Currently licensed paramedic
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license (Class C) and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR). Must successfully obtain Georgia Class F driver’s license within twelve (12) months of employment.
Certified as Hazmat Awareness; maintain certification.
Certified as Hazmat Operations within one (1) year of appointment.
Licensed as a Paramedic Emergency Medical Technician by the State of Georgia; maintain licensure.
Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); maintain certification.
Certification in Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ACLS); maintain certification.
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.
